I write about this every but every year it annoys me more and more......oh yes people its SPM time. And of course:
- "5.2% increase in number of students obtaining straight As" (TheStar)
- "SPM: Azali Azlan dapat 21 A"(Utusan Malaysia)
....the value of an "A" in Malaysia's SPM is a joke....it has no value.

McDonald's 100% Fish Ad - Calorie Guide?
I was just watching Americon Idol (hahaha) and saw McDonald's latest Filet-O-Fish ad.
Why bother about the ad? .....Well its not specifically directed at McD but how companies, especially fast food marketing phrases make the average Joe think "...hey, this must be healthy.."...but is it?

Download it here. I grabbed this from McD itself. They prepared a calorie guide for all their foods etc. Very useful to have....but useless if you don't know how to read it and most important, make sense of it. Need guidance? Buy my book :D
"Our Filet-O-Fish is 100% Fish"
Hmmm 100% fish...what does it mean? We all know breaded fish fillet...like fish fingers etc diperbuat dengan bread crumbs, eggs, flour etc....so sure they use 100% ikan.....hmmm but is there such a thing as 50% ikan? hahahah ikan is ikan la.
Is the Filet-O-Fish going to help kurangkan berat badan? Don't count on it lah. Generally fast foods are loaded with calories.
What is fattening about fast foods?
Hmmm not everything but a lot lah...usually its the yummy stuff that will "kill" you ;) Generally its the following that is definitely not going to help you lose weight:
...Did you know that 1 tablespoon of Mayo contains lebih kurang 90 calories!...
- Mayonnaise - Did you know that 1 tablespoon contains lebih kurang 90 calories! Thats a lot
- French Fries
- Daging burger - minced meat (walaupun 100% beef) is full of lemak (fat). Its the fat that makes it juicy and tasty!
- Sodas - Sugar Sugar Sugar
Do I eat at McD or other fast foods?
Of course :D.....it tastes good.....but I don't frequent the places are religiously as some people i know ;).....but bila I pergi to McD pun, this is what I do:
- Mayonnaise - I'll ask for No Mayonnaise. They will do it for you....kalau tidak I'll ask them to tukar.
- French Fries - ok lah too good to resist but I takkan order yang besar....never "Super Size"!
- Daging burger - I usually go for lean meat like grilled chicken burger atau fried chicken breast.
- Sodas - Either no drink or diet coke....this saves me some 150+ calories alone.

Nak Buat Senaman Apa Di Gym?

There is a gym near my house .. but i'm not sure what to try out first at the gym .. can you give me some advice?

If there’s one thing to remember when you exercise is this: Pentingkan kualiti senaman berbanding kuantiti.

UiTM Talk – Career, Image and Life
Yesterday I conducted a 1-day seminar @ UiTM, Shah Alam for the accounting students to prepare them for their upcoming internship programs but also to help them prepare for the real world....the world after university in terms of:
- Understanding the important of having choices
- Stength and weaknesses
- Learn what others things and see in you
- How to create a "positive" image in the mind of the interviewer and others
- Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication
- Interview Skills
- Post Interview Skills
I have a great time and would like to thank all the Accounting students yang sudi datang pada hari AHAD (hahaha..sanggup i tell u) and most importantly for being a very good audience....I hope we all had a great time and enjoyed the free gifts from Adidas, Fitness Concept dan Fitness First. Remember that you always have a choice in life but you have to understand the consequences of your actions. It's all in your hands.

Penat cari online but tak jumpa penerangan tentang 5M. Kenapa saya nak tahu? Coz esok I'll be attending a forum organized by UKM Bangi yang bertajuk "Kempen Makan Secara Sihat, Amalkan 5M".
Selepas cari online....still tak jumpa penerangan tentang maskud 5M
So untuk persiapan, nak jugak tahu what exactly is Amalkan 5M...what does 5M stand for?
All I found is this:
Makan, Mandi, Membuter, Main, Multiply....is it? Hahahaha "membuter" bukan a bad thing ke?
Just find it funny that this is a kempen daripada Kementrian Kesihatan but I cannot find the info when searching online.

Keracunan makanan di sekolah...salah siapa?

UMUM mengetahui pada awal tahun ini, beberapa kes keracunan makanan di kantin sekolah dilaporkan berlaku. Terbaru melibatkan 40 pelajar sekolah rendah di Jitra, Kedah yang muntah-muntah selepas makan nasi dan sambal ikan bilis di kantin sekolah mereka.
Semuanya berpunca daripada makanan yang tidak bersih tidak kira sama ada dari segi bahan mentah itu sendiri atau pun cara penyediaannya.
Apakah punca sebenar kes-kes seperti ini berlaku? Adakah para penjual di kantin sekolah kini sudah sudah mula mengabaikan tahap keselamatan makanan yang mereka jual? Tidakkah mereka terfikir yang sikap sambil lewa mereka membawa padah kepada para pelajar sekolah? Sudah diberi kepercayaan tetapi mereka khianati.
Menurut pakar pemakanan dan jurulatih kecergasan, Kevin Zahri, sikap pengusaha kantin yang terlalu mementingkan keuntungan menjadi penyebab kepada kes-kes seperti ini.
“Melalui kes-kes yang berlaku, kita dapat lihat yang mereka hanya mahu untung dan kebersihan makanan bukan lagi perkara utama.
“Contohnya ketika memilih ikan, mereka sepatutnya membeli ikan yang segar dan baru tetapi disebabkan ikan yang lama dijual lebih murah, mereka lebih cenderung membeli ikan ini tanpa memikirkan kesannya kepada pelajar."
“Cara memasak makanan juga perlu dititikberatkan. Makanan laut contohnya mesti dimasak lebih lama
berbanding ayam atau daging kerana kandungan bakteria dalam bahan mentah itu lebih tinggi,” katanya.
Mungkin kerana terlalu banyak jenis makanan yang dijual di kantin sekolah menyebabkan cara menjaga kualiti kebersihan bagi setiap makanan agak sukar dilakukan.
Begitu juga dengan kandungan nutrisi makanan, sama ada ia terlalu berlemak, terlalu berminyak atau terlalu manis, semuanya dijual tanpa ada satu tahap piawaian tertentu.
Bagi Kevin sendiri yang pernah bersekolah di luar negara, makanan yang dijual kantin sekolah di Malaysia sangat berbeza berbanding di luar negara.
“Di sekolah-sekolah di barat, makanan yang dijual di kantinnya agak terhad. Kebanyakannya adalah makanan yang bernutrisi tinggi seperti roti, susu dan buah-buahan.

Katanya lagi, ketika beliau bersekolah di Jerman, kantin sekolahnya diurus oleh ibu bapa pelajar sendiri di mana mereka juga yang menentukan jenis makanan yang disediakan. “Ibu bapa pelajar secara bergilir-gilir mengurus kantin sekolah, dan pada masa yang sama mereka juga mengawal
apa yang dijual di kantin.
“Ini merupakan salah satu cara yang baik bagi mengawal tahap kebersihan dan memastikan makanan yang dijual adalah makanan yang berkhasiat kerana mereka pastinya lebih peka dan tahu apa yang terbaik untuk anak-anak mereka.
“Bagaimanapun, cara kehidupan dan pemakanan mereka tidak sama dengan kita namun tidak mustahil untuk kita aplikasikannya,” katanya.
Mungkinkah dengan cara itu kita dapat memastikan gejala kes keracunan makanan tidak berulang? Ada benarnya apa yang dikatakan Kevin Zahri. Mungkin cara sedemikian agak mustahil dilaksanakan memandangkan kita amat kaya dengan pelbagai jenis makanan.
Namun demikian, kita boleh lakukan perkara yang sama namun dengan cara yang berbeza. Mungkin perlu ada satu garis panduan dalam menghidang atau menjual makanan di kantin sekolah bukan sahaja merangkumi kebersihan malah kandungan nutrisi dalam makanan itu sendiri.
Mungkin kita boleh mengubahsuai menunya mengikut selera Malaysia namun masih menjadikan kebersihan dan nutrisi sebagai perkara utama.
