The Pursuit of Happiness – Movie
Haven’t really posted anything outside of work and of course, health. So here’s something that inspired me. I don’t get inspired by books or philosophies…what inspires me is life, hardship, the will to persevere and to stand up for what you believe in.
…what inspires me is life, hardship, the will to persevere and to stand up for what you believe in…
So here I am…watching a movie..a true story – “The Pursuit of Happiness” at home (thank god for WIFI) and can’t help but feel for Will Smith’s character, Chris Gardner. Its a simple movie about live and yes, the pursuit of happiness.
So what is your pursuit of happiness?
To be thats what life is all about….the pursue the things that make us happy. Sure money is important but its definitely not everything…..for Chris Gardner his pursue of happiness is/was to:
- Provide for his family
- To be a good father and role model to his child
- To be a decent human being
- The never ending pursuit no matter what comes your way.
Be thankful for what we have
We (humans) are always complaining about the things we don’t have rather than focusing on the things we take for granted. We should be thankful and yes, happy that:
- We have a roof over our heads
- We can head to the mamak (at any time) and have a good meal
- We have a family and hopefully our health.
What is my pursuit of happiness?
My priorities in life are pretty simple. My pursuit of happiness is to:
- To be a provider for my family that one day I wish to have
- To be a decent human being
- To have god look kindly upon me
- To have peace of mind and a simple life.
- To make my family and lived ones proud.
- To be happy.
…What about fame and fortune? Thats not me and never will be my pursuit of happiness….
What about fame and fortune? Thats not me and never will be my pursuit of happiness. But, so happens that what I do makes me “famous”…than thats a bonus. My goal is to make it through life as happy as possible.
Just my two cents : It’s happYness not happIness. The title, that is~
The most saddest part is when Chris and his son have to sleep in Public Toilet -.-
Fame & fortune…do not mean anything if the family is not happy. Happiness is most important especially as a family, my prayer everyday for my children to do well in their studies, excel and become a good person, I believe then good things in life come. Education and knowledge is everything, that will stay with the person forever & no one can take it away from you. Fame & fortune however, sometimes may works in reverse.
I have not seen the movie, but I’ve seen Will’s interview on The Oprah Show. I think we both have the same pursuit of happYness! But looking at things, I am sure life is going great for you. Looks like your ’empire’ is working very well… 🙂
